The food and grocery delivery landscape just experienced a seismic shift overnight.

If you thought the delivery app wars had settled down, think again; two mega-coalitions have officially formed, and consumers are about to reap the rewards in major ways.

Team Amazon & Uber: The Prime Shake-Up & Perks

In a massive shocker, Amazon has officially dropped its multi-year partnership with Grubhub, pivoting hard to integrate Uber Eats directly into Amazon Prime and the Amazon Shopping app.

  • The Perk: Prime members nationwide now get an unlimited $0 Delivery Fee on restaurant orders of $25 or more placed directly through Amazon, meaning no separate Uber app or account is required.
  • The Launch Promos: To kick things off, members can get $20 off each of their first two orders of $25+ through November 18, 2026. This will stack with BOGO orders as well for wild savings!
    • Plus, Prime Visa cardmembers will earn 5% back on Uber Eats orders through December 5, 2026.
  • Eligibility: You must be a member or sign up for a standard Prime membership, Prime for Young Adults, or qualifying Prime Access accounts, which include household sharing. Amazon estimates the perk adds over $175 in annual value.

Grubhub’s Counter-Punch: Extended Memberships & 50% Off Codes

Grubhub isn’t going down quietly. For users whose partner-sponsored Grubhub+ memberships were supposed to end today, Grubhub is sending out emails extending memberships completely free through December 31, 2027.

They are also throwing out aggressive transition promos (valid through November 18, 2026):

  • 50% off (max $10) your next 5 restaurant delivery orders (on orders $12+). Code: PLUS50
  • 50% off (max $20) your next 2 grocery orders powered by Instacart (on orders $35+).

Team DoorDash, Lyft & Instacart Strike Back

Not to be outdone, DoorDash, which recently agreed to buy Instacart for $17B, immediately fired back by announcing an expanded partnership with Lyft to launch Lyft Go with DashPass.

  • Earn credits: Members can link their accounts to unlock 8% back in Lyft Credits on eligible rides.
    • These credits can be used seamlessly between Lyft rides and DoorDash orders across restaurants, groceries, and local shops.
  • Enjoy extra flexibility: Get 3 relaxed ride cancellations per month and never pay a fee if you leave an item behind.
  • Lost Item Fee Waiver: Never pay a fee if you leave an item behind, with unlimited uses.
  • DoorDash in Lyft: They’ve even introduced in-ride ordering, allowing you to place a DoorDash order right inside the Lyft app so your food meets you at your destination.

Final Verdict

Sorry, Grubhub, but the Amazon-Uber alliance is a game-changer for Prime users who want a frictionless checkout using existing Amazon payment methods. Uber has always believed you have to meet the customer where they are.

While gift cards tied strictly to native Uber accounts won’t carry over due to how Amazon processes orders natively, we’re still unsure if you can add a new gift card to these orders.

The fierce competition between these two massive corporate camps guarantees that we will see incredible deals, elevated rewards, and heavy discounting for a long time. Stay tuned.
