🚨 Last Chance to Grandfather Your Chase Points (Ends on 10/25)

If you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or an Ink Preferred, today is the final day to lock in your Chase points at their old, boosted redemption rates.

Here’s what that means:

Sapphire Reserve: 1.5¢ per point in Chase Travel

Sapphire Preferred / Ink Preferred: 1.25¢ per point

To keep these rates for another two years, you must have opened your Sapphire or Ink Preferred before June 23rd – and move all your Chase points from other cards (like Freedom or Ink Cash) onto that account today.

What you’re locking in:

The enhanced redemption value (1.5x / 1.25x) + The Points Boost feature for another 2 years → Essentially, you get the best of both worlds.

Important tip: Chase uses a first-in, first-out system when you redeem. That means your grandfathered (1.5x / 1.25x) points will be used up before any new points earned after today.

Strategy note:

If you plan to transfer points to travel partners, consider doing that using new acquired points from a secondary transfer eligible card, not the main one where your grandfathered points sit – so you don’t waste the higher-value points on transfers.

However, if your main card earns more points (like 3x or 5x categories), it still might make sense to keep spending there.

Bottom line:

Transfer all your points today to your Sapphire or Ink Preferred if you were opened before June 23rd – it’s your last shot to lock in that 1.5x or 1.25x power for the next two years.
